Principal Investigator for Archaeology

Dr. Gust is a Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) with over 12 years of experience in field archaeology. His field expertise includes pedestrian surveys, excavation monitoring, resource recording, and historic artifact analysis. Dr. Gust has extensive experience in California cultural resources, having served as Principal Investigator on projects for Southern California Edison, Pacific Gas and Electric, the City of San Jose, Los Angeles International Airport, and the City of Morro Bay. He has managed a variety of projects at Cogstone in the water, transportation, energy, development, and federal sectors. He has also managed cultural resources monitoring projects for both public and private sector clients. He meets the qualifications required by the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and Guidelines for Archaeology and Historic Preservation. Dr. Gust is a member of the Society for California Archaeology, Society for American Archaeology, and the American Anthropological Association.
